KYLIE KOLB
MA, LMFT, CSAT, AF-EMDR Therapist-in-training
Therapy that moves beyond insight and into meaningful, lasting change.
Welcome
For many of us, acknowledging that something needs to change is the hardest part. At some point we recognize the gap between where we are and where we want to be, and choosing to do something about it is a truly courageous act. I respect you for making that choice, and would be honored to join you in that process.
Treatment philosophy
Effective therapy instills hope and builds a practice of self-awareness that leads to meaningful and lasting change. My approach is both insight-oriented and experiential, integrating attachment-focused and nervous system-informed work to help shift patterns at a deeper level.
While I bring expertise in psychology, you are the expert on your own lived experience. Therapy is a collaborative process and my role is to support, guide, and at times challenge you in ways that create greater clarity, growth, and change. My stance is direct and attuned, creating room for both insight and deeper processing.
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Specialties
My work spans a range of experiences, with particular depth in the areas below.
Addiction & emotional escape
When coping turns into numbing, avoiding, or losing yourself, there is often something deeper driving the pattern. I work with clients struggling with substance use, sex and love addiction, and codependency, helping to uncover the underlying emotional and relational dynamics that keep these cycles in place.
Recovery is not just about stopping a behavior, but understanding what is driving it and creating a different way of relating to yourself. This work opens the door to a greater sense of clarity, stability, and freedom.
Trauma & healing
Some experiences do not simply stay in the past. They continue to shape how you think, feel, and respond in the present. You may notice this in patterns of anxiety, emotional reactivity, shutdown, or feeling stuck in ways that don’t fully make sense.
Using an attachment-focused, nervous system-informed approach, including AF-EMDR, I help clients process unresolved experiences, shift patterns at a deeper level, and move toward greater regulation, stability, and relief. This work is not about revisiting the past for its own sake, but about freeing yourself from what has been quietly shaping your experience.
High-performance & pressure
You are used to performing at a high level and being relied on by others. The expectations are high, the pace is demanding, and there is often an internal pressure to get it right and hold it together.
I work with individuals navigating high-performance environments, including pressure, visibility, and limited space to step outside of it. My approach is direct, focused, and tailored to your life, addressing perfectionism, high expectations, and the emotional cost of maintaining that level over time.
Relationships & intimacy
Intimacy is a core part of being human, yet many people struggle to feel truly connected to others and themselves. You may find yourself repeating familiar patterns in relationships, feeling anxious, disconnected, or never quite settled. Together, we look at the attachment patterns shaping how you connect and relate, creating space for more secure and fulfilling relationships.
If you struggle with compulsive sexual behaviors or love addiction, we can explore what healthy sex and relationships look like for you, and how to feel more fulfilled while living within your values.

a more personal note

I scored over 1,000 points on my high school basketball team
I am is still best friends with my schoolmate from the 4th grade
True crime is my favorite genre
I collect more books than I could ever read
I value movement and fitness as a form of grounding
DAHLIA
Dahlia is an 8-year-old Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) adopted from Fur Baby Rescue in Los Angeles. She has been a beloved presence in the therapy room for years and holds a special place in this practice.
While sessions are currently virtual, Dahlia may occasionally make an appearance on screen. In her in-person days, she had an uncanny ability to gravitate toward whoever needed her most. Clients often found that her presence enhanced their work and supported emotional regulation during difficult moments.
She is affectionate, food-motivated, and completely unaware of how loved she is.
If you prefer sessions without Dahlia, just let me know.
